The City of Birchwood Village is forming a resident-led task force to evaluate the replacement of water mains.
This is an opportunity to help assess the current state of water mains, explore alternatives, and present recommendations to the City Council. The task force will conduct a cost-benefit analysis and comparison of the potential infrastructure plan versus the current road plan.
Members will work with the city engineer to develop questions about potential water-main replacement and road repair, review responses, and generate a report of findings to Council.
Applicants will be chosen on the following basis:
· Being a community-oriented resident
· Relevant expertise
· Practical interest in improving local infrastructure
· Older residents
· Residents from different parts of the city
· Newer residents
Applicants must be able to engage in civil discourse with those whom they might disagree. Applicants must also be able to be open minded with regard to new information and be willing to make a recommendation based on what is best for all of Birchwood.
If interested, please respond with your desire and qualifications to info@cityofbirchwood.com. The City Council will review applications and staff the task force at the June Council meeting
